CELPIP is known as the Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program; is a general test held for evaluation of a candidate’s English proficiency. It is categorized into two segments, i.e. CELPIP General and CELPIP General LS. The primary category has four components as same of IELTS exam, which includes Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. And the General LS category includes two categories only Listening and Speaking. The CELPIP Test is entirely administered by a Canadian organization named Paragon Testing Enterprises, which is a subsidiary of the University of British Columbia. The examination fee for this test is $200(Canadian Dollars) + Service taxes applicable.
How CELPIP General is different from CELPIP LS?
The General Category is suitable for the people who are looking forward to applying for the Permanent Residency in Canada under different programs like Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), Provincial Nominee Program, Federal Skilled Worker Program(FSWP), the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) or any of the constituent programs.
Whereas the General LS program is accepted by the IRCC and is given by those who want to prove their English Proficiency in terms of Listening and Speaking while applying for the Canadian Citizenship program.
